Fall Side Dish Ideas
November 29, 2012

Theme Party Queen

If you celebrated Thanksgiving last week, I hope you had a very enjoyable holiday with your family and friends. We had a small and intimate family gathering at the new house and enjoyed our annual turkey in a bag with several of the usual side dishes.

We skipped the sweet potatoes this year and I was surprised that I didn't miss them at all. Every year we eat leftovers for days and I still end up throwing food away. Seems like the extra sweet potatoes always end up getting trashed.

I know, I know. I should use them to make some fabulous recipe like sweet potato cupcakes or something, but I never get around to it so they got skipped this year! Maybe they'll reappear next year.

Winter Decorations

With winter heading our way and so many holidays coming up, we have been very busy decorating our new home. I am using several of the ideas from this webpage about making natural and DIY holiday decorations. Many of these ideas can be used not only during the holiday season but throughout the year.

Pinterest

We are having so much fun building our holiday and seasonal boards to keep track of the ideas we love. These pins come from all over the web and will lead you to some of the most tasty-looking party recipes, unique centerpiece ideas and our favorite DIY edible gift ideas.

If you haven't already done so, look for our boards at the red Pinterest icon below. Keep checking back often as we will be updating them continually throughout the year. A quick way to get inspiration when entertaining.

What’s New

Those of you who follow our Facebook fan page (icon below) may have already seen our post there, but I don't want our newsletter subscribers to miss it so I'm adding the link here too.

I made a fantastic warm and cheesy crab dip for Thanksgiving that my family raved about. If you are looking for a crowd pleaser this holiday season, I posted the recipe and detailed photos here.
