Theme Party Queen

Are you doing anything special for Valentines day? The 14th falls on a Tuesday this year and we already have plans to see my son's band perform on the Saturday before so we will probably do something on Saturday, February 18th.

We are in the process of rehabbing a house and preparing to move so I have no plans to entertain for Valentines day this year. I think it is going to be a dine-out-kind-of-Valentines-celebration for us.

If you are entertaining at home, we have a few recipe suggestions that would be perfect. First, my friend Carol makes Oreo Truffles alot for parties and they are outstanding, but for Valentines day, you can alter the recipe just slightly and make Peppermint Oreo Truffles. Haven't met a soul who doesn't love these little bites of heaven!

For a fancier affair, my hair stylist gave me a recipe for Chocolate Amaretto Cake. I made it one year for a New Years Eve party. It's a Bundt cake and I filled the center with raspberries. I think your guests will love this for Valentines day.

Need a cocktail suggestion? How about making Chocolate Covered Cherry Martinis or Vanilla Peppermint Pattitinis?

Whether you are dining out like us or you are hosting a get together at home, have fun and enjoy your special someone this Valentines day.

Until Next Time,

Sandee Lembke
