Garlicky Beef Broth Fondue

  • 4 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cans beef consommé
  • 1/2 cup chili sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 beef bouillon cubes
  • Dash of Worcestershire
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 cup red wine
  • Raw dippers like thinly sliced beef, tail-on shrimp, scallops, portabellos and chicken

Saute onions and garlic in butter. Add all other ingredients and simmer 1/2 hour. Add 1 cup red wine.

Pour mixture into a fondue pot and when you are ready to eat, bring the broth mixture to a gentle boil. Spear meat with a fondue fork and leave in heated broth until cooked as desired.
