Ideas For Potluck

Here you will find some of our favorite recipe ideas for potluck parties, including main entree ideas that are easily transportable, simple desserts that can be made in large quantities and some easy side dishes.

Rice, pasta and casserole dishes are almost always present at potluck parties probably because you can easily make large quantities.

Salads are also great ideas so we are featuring a pasta salad recipe that works great for potluck theme parties but also for other types of parties like wedding showers and luncheons.

Easy Potluck Recipe - Bachelorette Pasta Salad

Even though this is called the "Bachelorette Pasta Salad", once you read the easy recipe you will agree that this salad is perfect for potluck get togethers.

We like easy recipe ideas for potluck theme parties that allow you to either serve the dish immediately if you are hosting, or potluck recipes that can be easily transported and assembled when you reach your destination. This easy Bachelorette Pasta Salad is that kind of recipe.

Salad Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds
  • 1/2 cup pecans

  • 1 box bowtie pasta, cooked
  • 1 cup red seedless grapes, cut in half
  • 1 cup green seedless grapes, cut in hal
  • 1 cup celery, chopped

  • 1-1/2 cup mayo
  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan

How To Make Glazed Nuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt butter in skillet then add brown sugar and stir quickly for about 1 minute until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat.

Toss nuts in glaze and pour onto a parchment-lined cookie sheet and spread into a single layer. Bake 5 minutes, stir and bake 5 more minutes. Cool and crumble.

Potluck Pasta Salad & Dressing

To make the base salad, combine pasta, grapes and celery in a large bowl. To make the dressing recipe, combine mayo and Parmesan in small bowl and mix well.

Store nuts, salad mixture and dressing separately in the refrigerator. When ready to serve, toss all together.

Recipe Idea: Add chicken for a heartier salad. You may want to thin the dressing with a little milk if too thick.
